I'm not sure if its because I will be turning 30 this year or if its the constant busy schedule, but I find myself craving more intimate spaces to reconnect with my family and friends. I no longer want to throw big parties where I don't have time to really talk to my guests. I am much more comfortable doing a small gathering with a few close friends where great conversations happen. The idea of these cozy conversation areas really appealed to me as a relaxing place to hang out after a long day. These spaces are one of my favorite multi-functional rooms that can go seamlessly from family time to entertaining. So today I am sharing with you some of my very favorite spaces to help inspire you to try this in your own home.Read More
Here at Abigail Amira, we love entryways. Your entryway is the first thing you see when you come into your home. When visitors stop by, this area will make the first impression. Why not make it a welcoming room that invites you and your guests inside?Read More
I love being in my kitchen, I think in another life I would have been a pastry chef. I love making yummy treats or a delicious dinner for my family to enjoy. The sights, the smells, I love it all. My husband and I have lived in a lot of different style homes over the last ten years. Some kitchens I have loved and others I found it hard to work in.Read More

I truly believe that home decor and design is ever-evolving. Homes that are decorated over time, in my experience, are the most beautiful and comfortable homes to be in.Read More
Our master bedroom has been changing a lot ever since we bought our home a little over a year agoRead More
Once the plan set in motion to begin construction, I knew we needed to make a plan for inside access to the basement.Read More
Finding the perfect bed for my daughters bedroom proved to be a very difficult task. We had already bought a new desk, dresser, bedding and accessories but the room was feeling character-less. Her original white headboard was lovely but too small for the space and didn't make much of an impact.Read More
Last week I posted about finishing the basement family room. If you missed it, you can read about it here. After we moved all of the living room furniture downstairs I had a big empty room left upstairs. This empty space is now becoming our new dining room. I really wanted a dining space that was light and bright, somewhere we could gather and enjoy our meal together with friends and family. Up until now we have been eating at the peninsula off the kitchen. Here is the dining room/living room space before we moved in.Read More
Hello friends! I found a beautiful vintage quilt and two matching antique ladders at our local antique store but silly me didn't purchase them immediately. When I went back to buy them they were all sold. I still wanted a ladder to hold my growing quilt collection, so I decided to build one with scrap wood I had around. This is it!Read More
Do you remember from my Instagram post awhile back how I made these floating shelves for my daughter's room?
I liked them but since I am updating her room, I decided to give them an update as well. So first I added some leftover 1x3 boards I had from other projects. I made them shorter than the top board.
(Ignore the pocket holes, I was talking to my daughter while building these shelves and put my board on backwards)
Then I added these shelf brackets I picked up from Lowes. They were less than $4 a piece.
After they were assembled, I gave them two coats of Sherwin Williams Creamy paint.
Aren't they cute? I can't wait to put them up in my daughter's bedroom.
It was such a labor of love, I think it turned out to be a sweet space.Read More
