A Look Back At 2017

This past year has been a crazy roller coaster of emotions for us. I am pretty used to having a full plate, but this past year has really tested my capabilities. It was so exciting to see our vision for the shop come to life, but many times I felt overwhelmed. I wasn’t sure if I could handle the pressures of starting a small business. It was something I thought about for a long time and often day dreamed about, but I had no experience in starting or running a small business.

Today I want to share with you three small rooms with big style. I have designed a bedroom, living room and dining room mixing some high end and low budget pieces. I am highlighting my favorite pieces from Pottery Barns small spaces collection. All the small space pieces have that high end look without the high price. I love that they are smaller scale and can fit in those tiny city apartments or long and narrow rooms (Like my family room!).

This outfit is perfect for an outdoor concert! I have paired some long denim shorts with a simple white vintage t-shirt, casual slip-on sandals, irregular sunglasses, and feminine drop earrings. You can wear this ensemble to the farmer's market, for drinks with friends, or even on vacation.

"The Curious Dandelion: A Tale of Friendship and Kindness" A Short Story in Honor of Military Children

During the month of April, we take time to recognize the children of military families. These children are a special breed, as they face more changes and challenges than most people do in a lifetime. They develop a strong sense of resilience and adaptability as they move from one duty station to another. They are proud of our country and the people who serve it. They learn to navigate long-distance relationships when one or both of their parents are deployed far away. The symbol representing these brave children is the dandelion because the winds scatter them worldwide, but they continue to grow hardy and resilient. I want to share a short story I wrote for my little dandelion in honor of military children worldwide. I encourage you to pass along this story to your military friends and family. It is my heartfelt wish that this narrative, filled with hope and resilience, brings as much joy to your children as it did to mine.
