The cottage core aesthetic, a unique blend of simplicity, rustic charm, and wholesome living, has captivated the hearts of many. You can transform your bedroom into a sanctuary of tranquility and peace. A cottage core bedroom is more than just a room; it's a cozy, comfortable atmosphere that wraps you in a warm hug.
To start with, focus on the color palette. Soft and muted colors like pastel pinks, greens, blues, and yellows work well for a cottage-core bedroom. You can add color with floral patterns or botanical prints like I did with these unique chairs. When it comes to the furniture, if you can, opt for vintage or antique pieces. A four-poster bed with a canopy, a vintage dressing table, or a rocking chair can all add to the cottage-core vibe.
Add plenty of soft furnishings like pillows, blankets, and rugs to create a cozy atmosphere. Natural fabrics like cotton, linen, and wool work well for a cottage core bedroom. Potted plants and fresh flowers will bring a touch of the outdoors inside.
When it comes to lighting, stick to warm and soft lighting. Add a vintage chandelier or table lamp with a fringed shade for a more traditional look. Feel free to mix up styles! I used modern lighting so the space feels lighter visually.
Remember to add some personal touches to your cottage core bedroom. Display photographs, hang some artwork, or add a few knick-knacks with sentimental value. This is your space, and these personal items will make your bedroom feel like a reflection of your personality and style, instilling a sense of pride and ownership.
The cottage core bedroom is a warm and cozy haven that offers respite from the chaos of everyday life. By embracing these simple tips, you can turn your bedroom into a charming and peaceful retreat that truly reflects your unique style and brings you joy.

In 2026, homes are becoming less about matching sets and more about creating a lived-in, collected-over-time style. Think Nancy Meyer’s film settings in Something’s Gotta Give, Father of the Bride, and The Holiday. Homes that emphasize warmth, personality, and feel like they are actually lived in. We are stepping away from minimal interiors in favor of natural materials like full-grain leather, hardwoods, and natural stone that develop a beautiful patina over time.
