How To Use A Color Palette In Your Home: Navy + Neutrals

Are You Wondering How You Can Incorporate A Little Color Into Your Room Without Painting The Walls? Do You Ever Look At Color Palettes On Pinterest And Long To Have Those Colors In Your Own Home? We‘re Bringing Different Color Palettes To Life In A New Blog Series! We Are Showing You How To Create A Beautiful Room Using Our Favorite Color Inspiration Along With Some Fun Pieces To Help You Add These Colors Into Your Own Home.

THE COLOR INSPIRATION: NAVY + NEUTRALS

For this palette, I choose a grey fabric on the beds upholstery.

I used a natural fiber rug to add a little more warmth and texture to the room. If you are feeling a bit more bold, you can use a rug with a pop of blue.

I used a pattern curtain in navy to add some color and interest.

I wanted to see more of those sandy hues so I choose two matching nightstands in a washed walnut finish to flank the bed.

I like to have extra seating so I placed a cozy chair in a deep navy. You could tone down the room by adding a neutral chair or a leather option to add some more warmth. This is the base of our design. These items are what I like to call key investments pieces. They are the pieces that you will touch everyday for years to come. I like to make sure these are good quality and mostly neutral items (my neutrals colors are white, grey, navy blue, black and beige).

Now that we have a strong base let’s start adding in the accents! I choose to add two ottomans instead of the traditional bench at the end of the bed.

I added an interesting art piece.

Lamps with a gentle curve to break up all the vertical lines.

I layered in a simple pillow combination.

I placed some thoughtful nightstand accessories and finally plants! I believe every room needs plants, fresh flowers and/or greenery to add life to the space. Don’t have a green thumb? There are many great faux options!
