Get The Look: Modern Farmhouse Bedroom

Source: Abigail Amira

Today, I have created a Modern Farmhouse Bedroom look that is simple and understated. Your bedroom is where each day will begin and end so I like to keep it a little more minimal.

- The Bed -

Source: Wayfair

I came across this gorgeous Alexandra Canopy Bed on Wayfair and immediately fell in love! This bed is finished in textured black, making it feel a little more modern. I love the small details like the teardrop finials, the curved headboard and slats along the panels. I think this bed would look especially beautiful with white bedding that will contrast the dark finish.

 -Bedding -

Speaking of bedding, a layered bed is a happy bed. Here is what I would suggest for layering your bedding.

- Sheets -

The right sheets can make all the difference for a goodnight sleep. This Belgian flax linen sheet set feels lustrous, smooth and cool to the touch. These sheets will make waking up and going to bed feel a little more special. Bonus, they are machine washable too!

- Duvet -

You got the perfect sheets, now you need to add softness. I love adding a fluffy duvet to any bed. This Belgian Flax Linen Duvet has the same fabric as the sheet set I suggested, so it will also feel smooth and cool to the touch. It is enzyme washed for added softness, and its classic style will complement any style.

- Quilt -

I like to add subtle contrast to the smooth bedding by adding in some texture in the same hues. I do this with a quilted layer or even a Gauze Matelasse Blanket. I love this Pick-Stitch Quilt and its Euro Pillows. They are hand-quilted using a special method that takes about three days to craft! Layering your bedding this way allows you or your guests to easily adjust their comfort level.

- Nightstand -

I love adding storage to nightstands. It keeps things neat and tidy for a minimal look. I love how the open black metal base balances out the beautiful Elm wood top.

- Lighting -

The lighting you choose can change the whole mood of the room its in. Have fun when selecting your lighting pieces and don't be afraid of using over-sized statement pieces!

- Pendant Light-

This pendant is sure to make a statement  no matter where you hang it. I love the open feel of the 5 candelabras caged in this simple frame. It feels modern and sticks to the minimalist theme.

- Table Lamp -

This lamp has been a long time favorite of mine! I love the modern clean lines and its antiqued brass finish. This timeless piece will compliment most design styles! Its burlap shade adds warmth and coziness to any space.

- The Poufs -

Poufs are a wonderful way to add interest and come in so many different materials like knit, jute and leather. Here I choose a woven jute for the end of the bed. These Odin Sphere Poufs will help break up the hard lines and add more texture.

- The Rug -

This muted blue rug is a great option for any space. Its feels soft underfoot and has a beautiful pattern that is balanced perfectly. I choose this rug to add a pop of color without overdoing it.

- Window Treatment -

Create softness with beautiful creamy white drapes. I love the casual warmth of these Emery Linen drapes. They have a soft, nubby texture and because they are made with two differently colored threads, they have a subtle texture.

- Accessories -

I keep nightstand styling minimal and chic. I used a collection of stacked books with our favorite picture frame set on top. On the other side, I used a simple clear glass vase with some pretty flowers. Fresh flowers are best but faux can be used in its placed. I like like to stick to a color palette of whites, pale pinks and grey-greens for a classic look.
