The project we are currently working on is remodeling our outdated master bathroom. Its footprint is tiny and it had this huge bathtub that took up most of the room. I’m a big fan of relaxing in a nice hot, bubble bath. Unfortunately, here the hot water runs out long before you get this large tub filled up. We decided to replace the tub with a walk-in shower to really maximize the space.
I love being in my kitchen, I think in another life I would have been a pastry chef. I love making yummy treats or a delicious dinner for my family to enjoy. The sights, the smells, I love it all. My husband and I have lived in a lot of different style homes over the last ten years. Some kitchens I have loved and others I found it hard to work in.
Have you seen a new trend you want to experiment with? Pillows are an inexpensive way to change the look of your room and try out new trendy colors (like Pantone's color of the year, Greenery!).
I've been wanting to do a fireplace in my bedroom since we moved in to this house. The cost of a real fireplace quickly ruled that out, but that wouldn't stop me from getting the look of a real fireplace.
Finding the perfect dining room chairs can be difficult. If you’re like my family and use your dining room table for eating, school work, crafts, and conversations then you know comfort is key.

I truly believe that home decor and design is ever-evolving. Homes that are decorated over time, in my experience, are the most beautiful and comfortable homes to be in.

I love keeping the feeling of Christmas magic around after my tree is practically bare and the beautiful presents have all been opened.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and all through my house it looks more like Christmas. Usually I wait to put my Christmas decor up until after Thanksgiving but this year I just can't wait to decorate.
Our master bedroom has been changing a lot ever since we bought our home a little over a year ago
After the cinnamon rolls came out of the oven, I poured the maple icing all over the hot rolls to soak up all that goodness.
Ever since I moved into our house I have loved our windows. They all have deep window sills that I can place plants on (because I can be a crazy plant lady). After I painted all the window frames white, I felt like the rooms needed more warmth. I immediately thought natural woven shades in a mid-range color would be perfect. So I began sourcing shades, my heart hurt a little after seeing their prices... So I put this project on hold.
Fall is finally making its way into my home, the weather has already gotten cooler and the leaves are just beginning to fall to the ground. My daughter is so excited for leaf piles to jump into while I am excited for breaking out my favorite boots.
Once the plan set in motion to begin construction, I knew we needed to make a plan for inside access to the basement.
Finding the perfect bed for my daughters bedroom proved to be a very difficult task. We had already bought a new desk, dresser, bedding and accessories but the room was feeling character-less. Her original white headboard was lovely but too small for the space and didn't make much of an impact.
Our home is pretty small so we sometimes need to be clever with our storage.
Last week I posted about finishing the basement family room. If you missed it, you can read about it here. After we moved all of the living room furniture downstairs I had a big empty room left upstairs. This empty space is now becoming our new dining room. I really wanted a dining space that was light and bright, somewhere we could gather and enjoy our meal together with friends and family. Up until now we have been eating at the peninsula off the kitchen. Here is the dining room/living room space before we moved in.
Hello friends! I found a beautiful vintage quilt and two matching antique ladders at our local antique store but silly me didn't purchase them immediately. When I went back to buy them they were all sold. I still wanted a ladder to hold my growing quilt collection, so I decided to build one with scrap wood I had around. This is it!
